Hi, I’m Rein Verhaag, a young software developer currently studying at MediaCollege Amsterdam. My programming journey started with creating simple games in Scratch, and my fascination with the digital world has only grown since then. Through my studies, I’ve gained experience with tools like Unity, CLion, and languages such as C#, C++, and Python.
I am particularly interested in engine development and graphics programming. Working at a low level with C++ has deepened my understanding of how computers operate. I enjoy building software that either helps others or entertains them. My recent projects include a C++ library and a shader engine, inspired by Shadertoy, where I explore creative coding and graphical effects.
Outside of coding, I love to create in other ways, like playing the piano and drawing pixel art. Staying active is also important to me, whether it’s hitting the gym or the water with windsurfing. Keeping a healthy balance between work and personal life helps me stay energized and creative.
I strive to continue developing software that makes a positive impact, whether by helping people or bringing them joy!
I’m seeking an internship where I can deepen my understanding of industry-level code structure and best practices. I’m particularly interested in working in a low-level development environment, as I enjoy getting hands-on with performance optimization and understanding how systems operate at their core. I have a passion for graphics programming and tool development, and I would love to work on projects that enhance software performance or simplify development workflows. An ideal internship for me would involve contributing to real-world applications, while allowing me to sharpen my skills and learn from experienced developers.
